Best Adults-Only All-Inclusive Resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, Mexico

I am frequently asked what the best adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya are. After all, if you are looking to get away and relax, one of the last things you want to deal with is a pool full of splashing children. Luckily, you can find a huge variety of adults-only resorts in the Riviera Maya perfectly designed for an adults-only getaway. With so many resorts, it can be hard to narrow down where you should go. So I’ve compiled a list of the best adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya, Mexico!

Number 1: La Casa de la Playa
Topping the list of my favorite adults-only all-inclusive is La Casa de la Playa. Undoubtedly, this is one of the most luxurious all-inclusive resorts in all of Mexico and the Caribbean. La Casa de la Playa is a boutique luxury resort near Playa del Carmen and is a part of the Xcaret Hotels. The service is impeccable but not over the top, with several little touches that make guests feel at home with their chefs and butlers! Guests have access to the other Xcaret resorts and the amenities on-site at La Casa de la Playa, including the 24-hour tequileria, the chocolate room, and a private wine cellar. The best part? It’s all included, even your luxury airport transfer and access to all Xcaret parks.
Number 2: Xcaret Arte
This next resort is one of my best sellers because it is excellent for nearly every traveler. Xcaret Arte has over 900 adults-only suites on the property inspired by Mexico’s elite artists. If you want to relax, it has rooftop pools or the main pool with a swim-up bar. A nightclub and lobby bar has music for those who want some nightlife. Xcaret Arte has some of the most unique restaurants out of any all-inclusive I’ve visited.
The best part of Xcaret Hotels is that a stay at the hotel gives you access to its 9 eco-parks, so you can zipline, snorkel, visit the Tulum ruins, or enjoy a catamaran- and it’s all included! This is popular for wedding and corporate events, multi-generational groups where everyone is over 16, honeymooners who want a bit more going on, and friend groups.
Number 3: Impressions Isla Mujeres
Impressions Isla Mujeres is one of the newest resorts on the island of Isla Mujeres, just a short boat ride away from Cancun. Impressions Isla Mujeres is renowned for its Instagram-worthy aesthetics and has garnered attention as one of the most sought-after destinations of 2024… Guests can enjoy world-class amenities, including pristine beaches, infinity pools, and gourmet dining experiences. It’s perfect for a honeymoon, a relaxing girls’ trip, or a trip with friends. Grab a golf cart, explore the island, or relax in luxury at the resort.
Number 4: Le Blanc
A top-resorts list would not be complete without Le Blanc. Le Blanc is known to be a higher-end all-inclusive resort with butler service and many little touches meant to provide total relaxation. The dining options are great, with 8 restaurants and multiple bars/lounges. Le Blanc also offers on-site activities, such as fitness classes, but the best part of this resort is not doing much!
Number 5: Secrets Impressions Moxche
Secrets Impressions Moxche was built in 2018 and quickly made it onto many travel advisors’ lists of top adults-only all-inclusive resorts. Secrets Impressions offers an intimate, personal approach to luxury travel, with a personal butler, gourmet dining, and 24-hour concierge services for guests. Guests can relax or set up romantic dinners or spa treatments in many areas around the resort. There is also a nightclub for guests who want a little more socializing! Impressions is a “resort within a resort” of Secrets Moxche. Impressions is meant to provide a higher level of luxury, but if your budget doesn’t allow for the Impressions side, Moxche is also great!
Number 5: Secrets Tulum
Secrets Tulum is one of the newest resorts in the Riviera Maya and has a very intriguing, unique concept. It was just featured on The Bachelor! Secrets Tulum is nestled in the beautiful jungle area of Tulum. But don’t worry; their free shuttle gives you all-day access to the beach club, located directly on the beach road in Tulum and part of your all-inclusive stay. Enjoy the gorgeous architecture and Balinese aesthetic, head to the beach for a more vibrant atmosphere, or explore the nearby ruins and cenotes!
Runner-ups:
Of course the most-loved resorts tend to be the most expensive, so I’ve included a more moderately priced list of resorts, and resorts that just narrowly missed the cut. Make sure to check these resorts out, too!
Unico 2087: This property has excellent entertainment and delicious food and is perfect for friends and couples. I also love this property for weddings! Because it appeals to so many types of travelers, it’s generally a fantastic fit for groups, and their wedding packages are very reasonable.
Valentin Imperial Maya: I love the Hacienda decor of this resort. Their golden-level rooms have all recently been renovated. Valentin Imperial Maya attracts a mixed crowd, so I love it for friends and wedding groups, but couples wanting some laid-back fun would also enjoy it.
Atelier: The beach at this resort is incredible, and they also offer some of the most beautiful swim-out rooms. Atelier offers many great dining options, pools, and a nightclub. This resort is actually 16+, so it’s great for those more mature teens. Atelier also has one of the top fine dining restaurants in the area: Maria Dolores.*
